How Much Do Wedding Invitations Cost to Print? (2026 Prices)

Flat digital invitations run from about 30 cents to $2 each at typical market prices, and letterpress from about $2.20 to $6. What changes the price, what envelopes and postage add, and when to order.

Printing 100 flat 5 x 7 in wedding invitations costs about $30 to $45 for the cards alone and about $85 to $205 with envelopes, at typical market prices checked October 2026. Fifty invitations with envelopes run about $50 to $70. Letterpress or raised ink moves 100 cards to about $220 to $600, and a full letterpress suite starts around $1,500.

The spread comes from a handful of choices: whether envelopes are included, how heavy the stock is, digital print or a pressed finish, and how many extra pieces travel with the invitation. Postage is a separate line, paid per guest, and it is easy to forget until the envelopes are stuffed.

How much do wedding invitations cost to print?

Digitally printed flat cards are the least expensive route, and the per-invitation price falls as the quantity rises. These ranges are for flat 5 x 7 in cards printed in full color.

Prices shown are typical market prices for standard options, based on published prices from national print retailers and online printers, checked October 2026. They are a guide, not a quote. These ranges are based on published prices at national retailers and online printers such as Staples, FedEx Office, Vistaprint, GotPrint and 4over4, including Vistaprint's wedding invitation cost guide and GotPrint's invitation page. Online prices exclude shipping and assume standard turnaround of several business days. Retailers run frequent promotions, so a single listed price can move a lot from one week to the next.

How much do letterpress and foil invitations cost?

Pressed finishes cost several times more than digital print because each color needs its own plate or die and the press runs one color at a time.

Typical market prices for premium wedding invitations, 100 pieces, October 2026
Finish100 piecesPer invitation
Letterpress or raised ink, cards onlyabout $220 to $600about $2.20 to $6
Full letterpress suitefrom about $1,500from about $15

Foil stamping and blind embossing add cost the same way, because each needs a die made before anything prints. Our guide to embossing and debossing explains how each finish feels in the hand. A common way to keep the look and control the budget is to foil or letterpress only the invitation and print the reply and details cards digitally on a matching stock.

What changes the price of wedding invitations?

  • Quantity: setup is paid once, so 150 invitations cost less than one and a half times the price of 100.
  • Stock: heavy cotton or double-thick card costs more than standard 14pt or 16pt card.
  • Sides: a printed back, such as a map or a monogram, adds to the price.
  • Process: digital is the base price; letterpress, foil, embossing and edge painting each add a die or a press pass.
  • Envelopes: plain, colored, lined or printed with return and guest addresses.
  • Extra pieces: reply cards with their own envelopes, details cards, belly bands and vellum wraps.
  • Turnaround: rush production and express shipping cost more than standard.

Do invitation prices include envelopes?

Not always, and this is the first thing to check when you compare two quotes. Some listings include plain white envelopes, some charge for them separately, and some do not offer them at all. A flat 5 x 7 in card fits an A7 envelope, which measures 5.25 x 7.25 in; our envelope size chart shows what fits in each size. Order about fifteen percent more envelopes than invitations, because addressing mistakes happen and a replacement envelope from a different batch is easy to spot.

How much does it cost to mail a wedding invitation?

A standard invitation in a rectangular envelope weighing up to 1 oz mails for $0.82 with a Forever stamp, and up to 2 oz costs $1.11, according to the USPS price list effective October 4, 2026. A square envelope is a different matter. USPS treats any letter with a length-to-height ratio under 1.3 as nonmachinable, under Domestic Mail Manual section 101, and adds a $0.49 nonmachinable surcharge. Rigid pieces and envelopes with clasps or strings are nonmachinable too.

Weigh one fully assembled invitation, with every card, ribbon and wrap inside, at a post office counter before you buy stamps for the whole list.

When should I order wedding invitations?

Have invitations in hand eight to ten weeks before the wedding, and send save the dates six to eight months out. Allow one to two weeks for printing, longer for foil or letterpress, plus time to address, stuff and mail. Work backward from the RSVP deadline, not the wedding date. Our invitation printing guide covers stocks, finishes and the full timeline.

Can I print wedding invitations designed in Canva?

Yes. Export the design as PDF Print with crop marks and bleed turned on, so the background runs past the trim and no white edge shows after cutting. Check that the page size is exactly 5 x 7 in, or whatever size you chose, and that thin script fonts are not set so small that the hairlines disappear in print. Our step-by-step guide to printing from Canva covers the export settings, and every file sent to us gets a free check for low-resolution images, missing bleed and RGB color before it prints.

Most invitation reprints come down to a single line of text. The day of the week does not match the date, the venue is spelled the way it sounds rather than the way it is written, or the RSVP date falls after the caterer's deadline. Before you approve the proof, read the date line against a real calendar, copy the venue name from the venue's own website, and have someone who did not write the text read it aloud.
