A full-color 8.5 x 11 in tri-fold brochure on 100 lb gloss, printed on both sides and folded, costs about $224 to $248 for 500 at typical market prices in October 2026, or about 45 to 50 cents each. For 100 brochures, retail starting prices of about $1.20 to $1.69 each work out to roughly $120 to $170. The price per brochure keeps falling as the quantity grows.
Published brochure prices are almost always for the folded letter-size tri-fold, so that is the baseline here. The sections below show how other folds, matte paper and short runs move the number, where published prices allow.

Prices shown are typical market prices for standard options, based on published prices from national print retailers and online printers, checked October 2026. They are a guide, not a quote. These ranges are based on published prices at national retailers and online printers such as Staples, FedEx Office, Vistaprint and UPrinting, checked on October 29, 2026. UPrinting's brochure cost breakdown shows one printer's tiers. Online prices exclude shipping unless noted and assume about three business days.
Published prices at 1,000 are thin. Some printers list lower figures than the one above, but for a specification their pages do not make clear, so ask for a quote on your exact brochure.
What is the average cost of a brochure?
A printed tri-fold costs about 45 to 50 cents at 500 and about $1.20 to $1.69 each in short retail runs, at typical market prices. The average depends mostly on quantity, because printing and folding take the same setup for 100 brochures as for 1,000.
Design is separate. These figures assume a print-ready file. If you need the brochure designed, or a restaurant menu laid out as a folded piece, ask for design help with the quote; our menu printing guide covers menu formats.
Does the fold type change the price?
Not much among the standard folds. One online broker lists half-fold, tri-fold and Z-fold brochures at the same price, because each is one sheet run through the folder once. Gate folds and roll folds with more panels are rarely on published price lists, so get a quote. Our guide to brochure fold types shows the panel sizes for each fold, and our direct mail format guide covers the USPS rules if the brochure will mail without an envelope.
Does paper choice change the price?
Yes, a little. At one large online printer, 500 tri-folds cost $247.50 on 100 lb matte against $224.25 on 100 lb gloss, about 10 percent more. Gloss suits photographs; matte reads better when the brochure is mostly text. Cover stock costs more again and has to be scored before it is folded.
What else moves the price of brochure printing?
- Quantity: setup for printing and folding is the same at 100 or 1,000, so short runs cost the most per piece.
- Size: an 11 x 17 in sheet folded to 8.5 x 11 in uses twice the paper of a letter tri-fold.
- Paper: matte ran about 10 percent above gloss at one printer. Cover stock costs more.
- Folding: half, tri and Z folds price about the same. Gate and roll folds are quoted individually.
- Turnaround: published prices assume about three business days, and rush adds cost.
- Shipping: most online prices exclude it. Big Apple Press delivers free anywhere in Manhattan.
How long does it take to print brochures?
Standard turnaround is two to three business days after proof approval, and rush is 24 to 48 hours on most products. Brochures are printed, scored where the stock needs it and folded before they leave, and a same-day courier can deliver them once they are done.
If a tri-fold is printed on cover stock, or has solid color running across a fold, it needs to be scored before folding. Without a score, the paper fibers break along the fold and the ink cracks into a white line. On 100 lb text this is rarely a problem; on cover stock it is common. When you compare quotes, check that both include scoring and folding, not a flat sheet you fold yourself.
