Specialty finishing separates a piece someone keeps from a piece someone files. Foil stamping presses metallic or pigment foil into the sheet under heat. Embossing raises the surface, debossing presses it in, and blind versions skip ink entirely so the effect is purely tactile.
Spot UV lays high-gloss varnish over selected areas of a matte sheet. Raised spot UV adds height you can feel.
Special finishes need their own artwork layer: a 100 percent black vector shape marking exactly where the foil, emboss or varnish goes. If your file is not set up that way, send what you have and our prepress team will build the layer and show you a proof.
Two special finishes on one piece reads as considered. Four reads as a printer's sample.
