Printing 500 full-color 8.5 x 11 in flyers on 100 lb gloss text costs about $110 to $195 one-sided at typical market prices in October 2026, or about 22 to 39 cents a flyer. Two-sided costs about $160 to $206 for 500. At 1,000, published prices run about $154 to $252, or 15 to 25 cents each, so doubling the quantity adds far less than double the cost.
Small runs cost the most per piece. Retail counters advertise color flyers from about 68 cents to $1.10 each, which is $68 to $110 for 100.

How much does it cost to print 100 flyers?
Published prices for 100 flyers vary widely, so ask for a quote. One online printer listed about $57 for 100, while retail counters start at about 68 cents to $1.10 a flyer, or $68 to $110 for 100. At this size of run, setup and handling are most of the cost, which is why 100 flyers cost far more per piece than 500.
Short runs print digitally with no plates to make, so 100 flyers are practical. For 5,000 or more, ask for an offset quote: very few printers publish prices at that quantity, and the price per flyer keeps falling. Our post on digital vs offset printing explains where the switch tends to happen.
Does printing on both sides cost more?
Yes, but not double. At the printers that publish both, a second side added about $12 to $23 to a 500 or 1,000 flyer order, or roughly 2 to 5 cents a flyer. If the back can carry a map, a menu or a list of locations, it is usually worth it.
Does the paper change the price of a flyer?
Paper moves the price less than quantity does, but heavier sheets cost more. Most published flyer prices assume 100 lb gloss text, the standard flyer sheet. Lighter 70 or 80 lb text suits high-volume street handouts. 80 lb cover or a 16pt club card costs more and suits racks, posting and pockets. Our flyer size and paper guide compares the weights in pounds and gsm.
What else moves the price of flyers?
- Quantity: the biggest lever. Per-flyer cost falls from 22 to 39 cents at 500 to 15 to 25 cents at 1,000 in the published ranges.
- Size: a half sheet uses less paper but needs the same setup, so a 5.5 x 8.5 in flyer is not half the price of a letter flyer.
- Sides: about 2 to 5 cents more a flyer for the back.
- Finishing: die-cut shapes, perforated rip cards and folding add steps, and a die adds days.
- Turnaround: published prices assume about three business days. Rush costs more almost everywhere.
- Delivery: online prices exclude shipping unless stated. Big Apple Press delivers free anywhere in Manhattan.
How fast can flyers be printed in Manhattan?
Standard turnaround is two to three business days after proof approval, and rush is 24 to 48 hours on most flyers. A same-day courier is available once the job is printed. Die-cut flyers take longer because the die is made first. Our post on rush printing in Manhattan covers what a tight deadline needs from you.
Where can you hand out or post flyers in NYC?
Hand them out, stack them on counters and put them in the windows of businesses that agree, but do not paste them on lampposts. NYC 311 lists street lights and utility poles as places where postings are illegal, and Sanitation can issue a violation to the party it identifies, usually the business on the flyer; see the city's poster and sticker complaint page. Read the rules for posting flyers in NYC before you budget for distribution.
A dark full-bleed background on light 70 or 80 lb text paper often disappoints. Heavy ink shows through to the back, the sheet can wave as it dries, and a two-sided flyer looks muddy. If the design is mostly solid color, print on 100 lb text or heavier, or keep the dark areas to the front. Our free file check flags heavy coverage, low-resolution images and missing bleed before anything prints.
