What do Financial District offices print?

Office print usually falls into four groups: cards and stationery for new hires, bound documents for meetings and deals, litigation sets for law firms, and signage and event print for the office itself.

Common Financial District office print and what to plan for
Office needTypical piecesPlan for
New hires and rebrandsBusiness cards, letterhead, envelopes, presentation foldersBusiness card orders start at 250 cards; two to three business days standard
Client and deal meetingsPitch books, board books, investor presentations, offering memorandaCustom tabs and binding; give the meeting time, not a delivery time
LitigationBlowbacks, Bates numbered sets, deposition exhibits, trial exhibit boards, appellate briefsAgree the starting Bates number and prefix before anything prints
The office itselfSuite and lobby signage, mounted boards, event banners, invitationsBuilding rules for anything large, mounted or delivered after hours

Deal teams can read our pitch book printing guide for tabs, covers and paper, and law firms our guide to briefs, exhibits and Bates sets. Deal and case material is handled as confidential by default and files are not kept after the job. If your firm needs a signed confidentiality agreement before it sends files, ask and we will supply one.

Should I pick up my printing or have it delivered?

Pick up when you work nearby and the order fits in a tote bag; have it delivered when it is heavy, bulky or needed somewhere you are not. Delivery costs nothing anywhere in Manhattan, so the choice comes down to timing and convenience.

If you collect, open one carton at the counter and check a sample against the approved proof before you carry the rest back to the office. It is far easier to sort out a question there than from your desk.

How do I get a print delivery into an office building?

Give us three details with the order: the recipient's name and mobile number, the full address with floor and suite, and whether your building takes deliveries at the front desk or sends them to a service or freight entrance. Every building sets its own rules, so ask your building manager about these points before a large or time-critical delivery:

  • Front desk: does the lobby desk accept and hold packages, or must someone come down and sign? Add a second name in case the first person is in a meeting.
  • Freight or service entrance: cartons of books, banner stands and mounted boards may have to come in through a separate entrance and the freight elevator, which can keep shorter hours than the lobby.
  • Delivery windows: ask whether there are hours when deliveries are refused, and whether the building receives deliveries at weekends.
  • Certificate of insurance: some buildings ask vendors to file a certificate of insurance with management before bringing in carts or large pieces. If yours does, get the requirements when you place the order, not on the delivery day.
  • Suite delivery: if a job has to go up to the suite rather than stay at the desk, register the delivery with building security in advance where the building asks for it.

Send the building's instructions with the order and they travel with the job to whoever delivers it.

Is there a print shop open on weekends near Wall Street?

Yes. Big Apple Press is open Saturday and Sunday from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Weekends are a good time to send files, choose paper and approve proofs ahead of a Monday deadline. Check that your building accepts weekend deliveries before you ask for one; if it does not, collect the job or schedule delivery for Monday morning. Our weekend printing guide covers how to plan a job over a Saturday or Sunday.

How fast can I get printing in the Financial District?

Standard turnaround is two to three business days for most print, and rush is 24 to 48 hours on most products. Dies, foil, binding and jobs with several layers take longer. A same-day courier is available once a job is ready. The jobs that move fastest arrive as a print-ready PDF with the finished size, quantity and deadline in the message, and have one person ready to approve the proof. Tell us when the meeting starts rather than when you want the box, and we will work backward from it.

For tighter deadlines, read our guide to same-day printing in Midtown and Lower Manhattan and what rush printing can and cannot cover.

A delivery that looks late downtown has often arrived on time. The carton sat at the lobby desk addressed to someone who was in a meeting, or it went to the freight entrance after the freight elevator closed for the day. Put a second name and a mobile number on every order, and if the job is for a meeting, ask the recipient to tell the front desk it is coming.
